Lost in translation
Video collages are a standard way of displaying favorite photos. There are digital frames that do it and there are also computer programs that let you create collages with style.
In Photo Mixer you put together images to form an uncompressed video file. There is a dozen of transitions to choose from and you can set the time for pictures and transitions.
Pictures can be edited to a small degree in an improved version of the classic Paintbrush. There's also a magic wand selection tool and some basic picture effects. Well, it's better than nothing.
- Photo editing
- Audio track
- Crashes in certain circumstances
- No picture preview (thumbnails)
- Works with very limited formats for audio and video
- Contextual menu is not in English (not an issue for speakers of French)
All in all, Photo Mixer is simply too basic and uncomfortable to use. If you add the stability and translation issues and you can bet on a PASS verdict.
